1st Division League

Marc KAVANAGH
Goalkeeper

Cavanagh's debut season with Phoenix started slowly, but after getting over the initial nerves, has found his feet well. His good size and agility makes him hard to beat, and with more experience should become an excellent keeper.

Patrick QUINN
Midfield

A state under 16's player last year, Quinn made his debut against Queens Park in 2005, and his first 6 matches were all victories in Phoenix's record run. Arguably the most technically gifted player in the region, Quinn is one of the key players who can take Phoenix to the Premier League in the coming years.

Stephen SUTTIE
Centre Forward

Suttie is Phoenix most prolific scorer in its short history with over 80 goals despite spending a season in midfield. Main assets are speed and finishing, but thin frame and a few other deficiences prevents him from being the player he could be.

Gary MAYERS
Utility

Mayers is probably the most decorated player at Phoenix. A former State player, Mayers is at his best when attacking from midfield with mazy runs and silky skills. Although there are no statistics for assists, Mayers would certainly be well up there.

Tom KOWALCZYK
Attack / Midfield
16

Trent HATHAWAY
Defence / Midfield

Hathaway is an experienced, smart player who relies heavily on his ability to read the game and organise his team mates. He has also assisted in coaching in 2005 and 2006 and has an extreme passion to promote youth.

Andrew COWLEY
Defence / Midfield

Cowley has been with Phoenix on and off since 2001. Has played in either midfeild or defence for the most part. Very fit hard working player who is versatile and can be used in a number of positions.

David MURPHY
Midfield / Attack

Murphy is arguably the most skillful player in the squad, always managing to find a yard when under pressure. His passing is also an asset which has been used to set up many goal scoring opportunities.

James BERGIN

Bergin made his debut in 2002 and has been a mainstay ever since. Has an enormous engine and runs all day. For his midfeild position, he has scored a good share of goals due to his enormous workrate and is always in the box when Phoenix attack. Sadly, this looks to be his last year prior to travelling around Europe

James MONKS
Forward

James broke into the league team in 2005 and is consolidating his position there now. Ha good body strength as well as pace, but despite having scored a couple of goals already, needs to step up and fill the shoes left by Mayers.

Greg HAYES
Defence / Midfield

Phoenix all time game record holder, Hayes has been there since day one and been through the good days and the bad days. Has scored some of the most spectacular goals in Phoenix history, but his ball winning ability is his main asset. Was Captain from 2003-2005.

Sean O'GORMAN
Utility

O'Gorman, the youth coach, can play in all positions. He has a very powerful shot and a huge kick, useful for clearances. Has trialled in England and knows the system well. Should become a key player in the near future.

Voin GARIC
Attack / Midfield
21

Garic, can play in all positions, he joined South West Phoenix Youth Squad in 2001 and has played in all the Phoenix squads since then. Voin was Bunbury United's Fairest & Best Player in 2005.

Pavel SOKOLOV

Patrick ROBERTS

Wade COMITO

Gino COMITO
Attack

Gino is one of very few natural strikers in the region. Has scored goals every where he has played. Has been plagued in recent years by fitness and injury problems. If these can be alleviated, he could be a big asset.

Drasko JANKOVIC
Midfield / Attack

Alan McGLASHAN
Defence

Alan played Youth and some Reserves in 2005. Was one of the brightest prospects to come out of the Youth team from last season and has broken in to the League squad in 2006. Made his debut against Dianella in Round 1 and performed well enough to retain his place.
